Please join your colleagues for an introduction to Sustainable Swine Resources (SSR), a division of Johnsonville in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. SSR has more than 20 years of experience and expertise serving the medical industry and partnering with companies and academic institutions in the research, development and commercialization of therapeutics (including FDA approved biomedical devices and medications) that leverage the distinct advantages of porcine materials.

Teresa Oium-Zube, Director, SSR presents her journey to market from a technology development, business, and personal aspect. Teresa is an accomplished agribusiness and operations management professional with more than 25 years of operations, strategic planning, business expansion and organizational design experience. Per Teresa, “SSR’s mission is to create solutions that add value for our customers while improving the health outlook for people and animals. SSR is also interested in sponsoring porcine material research that prolongs and saves human life.”

SSR is exploring partnership opportunities (including joint venture as well as research and supplier agreements) for research and development of novel therapeutics. Areas of interest include biomaterials, biomedical devices, pharmaceuticals, biologics, and regenerative medicine.

SSR currently has research relationships with start-up companies and universities including a joint venture called Viscus Biologics. Viscus Biologics has an active allograft product and is in the development stages of a xenograft product for hernia and wound repair. They are also actively developing other porcine based materials for introduction into the medical industry.
