Sustainability at UEL

Happy November! One of our goals for November is to understand how sustainable we are at UEL. In the next few weeks, you'll see more recycle and compost bins, information on how to recycle unusual items, and contests for our resident UEL companies.

UEL partnered with Ramsey County and Aspen Waste on a grant earlier in 2018 to reduce the amount of waste that we produce. We've already seen a reduction in waste and an increase in recycling - and are looking to do even better in 2019.

UEL has solar panels on our roof, installed in 2017, which provide some of the energy to support activity in our laboratories. We'll be adding a rain garden in our new addition, opening in 2019.
