GENOFLING 2019 | UPDATES IN RNA-BASED RESEARCH APPLICATIONS

The Genomics Center’s bi-annual technology seminars - GenoFling (spring) and GenoFest (fall) - are presented by the core’s director, Dr. Kenny Beckman, to provide updates on emerging trends in genomics technologies, future plans for our core facility, and application solutions for UMN researchers.

Due to the University’s broad RNA research community who rely gene expression profiling and transcriptome assembly for disease diagnosis, gene annotation, and identifying environmental responses, the focus for this year’s spring event is on "Gene Expression Technologies: Updates on Current Trends and Applications for RNA-Based Research". Whether it’s the transcriptome, a single-cell, targeted transcripts, or even down to the specific gene, technologies for studying gene expression is key to biological and clinical research here at the university.

Join us for a day of presentations from field scientists and the Genomics Center, an array of break-out sessions for deeper dives, as well as a vendor fair for one-on-one discussions with experts in that field, to explore the dominant gene expression technologies, recent advancements, and find new solutions to challenges in RNA-based research.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
